About

Dr David Paige trained at Cambridge University and St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College. After completing medical training he commenced dermatology at St John’s Hospital for Diseases of the Skin, London in 1989. He subsequently spent two years in laboratory research into the ichthyoses at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

He finished his training at St Mary’s Hospital London and Bristol Royal Infirmary before being appointed a consultant in 1995 at Barts and The Royal London Hospitals. Dr Paige has specialised in paediatric dermatology and HIV-related dermatology and also runs a specialised male genital dermatoses clinic.

Dr Paige contributes chapters to the Rook Textbook of Dermatology, The Rook Textbook of Paediatric Dermatology and Kumar and Clark’s Clinical Medicine. His research interests and publications are predominantly in the fields of ichthyosis and atopic eczema. He was part of the team that recently discovered the gene for harlequin ichthyosis.

He has worked for a number of medical charities having spent several periods on the medical advisory board of the National Eczema Society and is the current chairman of the Ichthyosis Support Group.
