Oculoplastics - for adults and children; Management of ptosis, ectropion and entropion (congenital or secondary to ageing and trauma), eyelid and facial lumps and high risk skin cancers. Mrs Sabrina Shah-Desai is an expert oculoplastic surgeon specialising in the management of eyelid malposition’s (congenital or secondary to aging and trauma), eyelid and facial lumps and high risk skin cancers, watery eyes and tear duct surgery, thyroid eye disease, restorative eyelid surgery post facial palsy, blind eye removal and rehabilitative eye socket surgery to include orbital implants and fat grafts. She offers advanced treatments for dry eyes and blepharitis and for facial dystonia’s (hemifacial spasm and blepharospasm).
She is one of the well-known UK cosmetic oculoplastic surgeons offering eyelid lifts (blepharoplasty and brow lift), scar less droopy eyelid correction (ptosis) and revision cosmetic eyelid surgery. She is highly experienced in non-surgical aesthetic facial rejuvenating treatments with Botox and dermal fillers which includes liquid face lifts.
Her NHS practice is based at BHR Hospitals NHS Trust (Queen’s Hospital) where she heads the division of oculoplastic surgery offering a comprehensive eyelid and lacrimal service for children and adults. She is a keen educator and runs a surgical training wet lab in basic oculoplastic procedures. She is frequently invited to lecture at national and international meetings and regularly publishes in peer reviewed medical journals and textbooks.
She undertook fellowship training in Cornea and Oculoplastics at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead (’96-‘97), Oculoplastics at Salisbury & Southampton Eye Units (‘98) and in Eyelid and Facial Aesthetic Surgery in the Craniofacial unit at The Chelsea & Westminster Hospital (2009).
She has undertaken Oculoplastic fellowship training at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital (2000-2001) & subsequently worked in their prestigious Adnexal unit for a period of 7 years, where she trained budding oculoplastic surgeons.
