Clinical pathology accreditation for Holly House
Holly House Hospital is proud to announce that our new Pathology Laboratory has achieved full Clinical Pathology Accreditation (CPA).
As part of our recent £20 million expansion and redevelopment project, a new purpose-built pathology laboratory was built within the theatre complex of our new build. Following relocation the laboratory has been re-inspected to ensure that it too meets the national standards of the CPA scheme.
The re-accreditation demonstrates the hospital’s commitment to providing high quality services. Phil Bates, Hospital Director, said: “Here at Holly House we pride ourselves on providing patients, local consultants and GPs with facilities and services that are of the highest quality. This accreditation further supports our aim to provide first-class independent healthcare in a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment.”
The CPA scheme measures eight key quality standards: organisation and quality management systems, staffing, premises and environment, equipment, information systems and materials, pre-examination process, examination process, the post-examination phase and evaluation and quality assurance.
With a combination of state-of-the-art instrumentation and computerisation plus a highly experienced team of consultants and fully qualified biomedical scientists, the laboratory provides a comprehensive range of pathology tests and investigations on blood and other biological specimens. Holly House is also the only private hospital locally to have retained an onsite Pathology Laboratory enabling patients and healthcare professionals to benefit from a fast, easily accessible and high quality service six days a week with an on-call service outside of these times.
